TEMPORARY PART TIME RECEPTIONIST

We are seeking a part time receptionist for the following shifts until February 2020. This may be extended, plus some holiday/sickness cover as required:

Monday - 16:30 to 20:30
Tuesday - 14:00 to 21:45
Thursday - 16:30 to 20:30

One weekend in Three

Saturday 07:45 to 16:45
Sunday 07:45 to 15:45

We are a busy, committed, fun loving, professional team dedicated to ensuring that our customers enjoy the very best experience from this community owned and led leisure centre.

As part of our Reception Team, you will be the first point of contact with our customers, whether face to face, over the telephone or online. We are looking for an enthusiastic, professional person with good customer service skills who really enjoys being part of a team, but are also comfortable working independently. Can make good customer care decisions and take ownership of this important role with confidence. Some IT/Till Operating experience will be advantageous but is not essential as comprehensive training is provided. You will be supported in the role by our Senior Receptionist, Bookings Manager and Duty Managers.

Salary from £7973.98 to £8787.436 according to age and experience based on an average of 20.583 hours weekly (casual hours paid at hourly rate in addition).

Recreation Assistant (FULL TIME 37.5hrs per week)

Our Recreation Assistants have one of the most important jobs at our centre and that is to keep our customers safe throughout the centre. In addition to being a stickler for health and safety, as a Recreation Assistant, you will thoroughly clean assigned areas, set up and take down various activities and events. You will be required to work early, late and weekend shifts as part of this role on a 6 week rolling rota.

A National Pool Lifeguard Qualification is essential for this role.

Recreation Assistant / Team Leader Apprenticeship

Are you looking to start a career in the leisure industry? We are offering a Leisure Assistant Apprenticeship and are looking for enthusiastic individuals to join our team. 

What could we offer you as part of a 12-15 month apprenticeship?

  • Level 2 NVQ in Activity Leadership / Team Leader with lifetime training.
  • RLSS Pool Lifeguard Qualification
  • STA Level 2 Award in Swimming Teaching

Rates of pay: £9,750 P/A

This is a varied role and your main duties will include:

  • Preparing activity areas to include the safe setting up/dismantling of equipment and ensuring that all equipment is stored safely and securely when not in use.
  • Monitoring and helping to maintain a safe and comfortable leisure centre environment by implementing organisational maintenance schedules.
  • Ensuring the highest possible standards of hygiene and cleanliness are maintained by carrying out routine and other cleaning tasks when required.
  • Assisting customers with queries in a friendly and effective manner, proactively developing and maintaining high standards of customer care.
  • Working as part of a team to ensure the smooth operation of the facility.
  • Following Normal Operating and Emergency Procedures.
  • Accurately filling in forms or reports relating to their normal duties.
  • Supervising the safety of the swimming pool environment and working to prevent accidents and emergencies.
  • Meeting the training and development requirements of the job role.
  • Working within the job role description at this level, recognising the standards and professional limitations that this provides, referring to appropriate members of staff for guidance and support.
  • Attendance at regular staff training

A Recreation Assistant is responsible for the cleaning, preparation and general safety of areas in a sport and recreation facility. You will have a key responsibility for the safety of customers in the swimming pool and its surrounding areas. Recreation Assistants are the first point of contact with customers and will need strong communication and social skills. 

Through work experience, coaching, training and development (both practical and vocational), and from completing a structured learning programme to obtain work related qualifications, develop and demonstrate both an understanding of and capability to carry out the activities of a practising Recreation Assistant / Lifeguard. 

To be considered for this role, you must be a strong and confident swimmer.

If you are invited to interview for this role you will be required to complete a swim test as part of the interview process, in order to be considered for the role you must be able to demonstrate you are able to do the following. 

  • Jump/dive into deep water
  • Swim 50 metres in no more than 60 seconds
  • Swim 100 metres continuously on front and back in deep water and then tread water for 30 seconds
  • Surface dive to floor of pool (deepest part)
  • Climb out unaided without ladders/steps and where pool design permits

Due to our growing Swim School we are looking for ASA or STA Level 2 Swimming Teachers to join our team.
