ABOUT RIVERSMEET
This is our RiversMeet
RiversMeet was created for the community, with a simple purpose: to provide high-quality sport, fitness and leisure facilities for people in Gillingham and the surrounding area.
Designed and built with community participation at its heart, RiversMeet moved from council-run to community-run in 2010. Today, it is operated by the Gillingham Community and Leisure Trust (GCLT) - a registered charity and not-for-profit social enterprise with no private stakeholders. Our volunteer Trustees manage the centre for the benefit of the community.
Our aim is simple - to meet the needs of the wider Gillingham community and ensure that high-quality leisure facilities remain available for generations to come.
From getting active in the gym and taking a dip in the pool, to trying a new class, training for your next challenge or simply spending time with the community, RiversMeet is here for everyone.
Your support matters - we only exist because of our community of members.
THE GILLINGHAM COMMUNITY & LEISURE TRUST
GCLT operates RiversMeet on behalf of the local community on a not-for-profit basis, with a focus on providing high-quality facilities and securing their long-term future.
Our Board of Trustees are volunteers who provide strategic direction and oversight, supporting the General Manager and leadership team. Together, they help ensure RiversMeet continues to operate sustainability while maintaining high standards for our customers and staff.
As a community-owned organisation, we’re proud to play an important role in the local area and are committed to preserving RiversMeet for future generations.
